TUCSON MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR POSSESSING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

 

TUCSON, Arizona—William Paul Rigli, 42, of Tucson, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Cindy K. Jorgenson to 10 years in prison and lifetime supervision after his release. Rigli pleaded guilty on November 26, 2008 to possession of child pornography.

Rigli ordered 13 movies depicting minor boys and girls engaging in sexually explicit conduct and sent payment for the movies. On January 8, 2008, the movies were shipped to Rigli’s post office box in Sahuarita, Arizona. U.S. Postal Inspectors arrested Rigli after leaving the post office, and the package was seized.

Upon completion of the 10 year prison sentence, Rigli will be on lifetime supervised release. He was ordered to participate in a sex offender treatment program, mental health counseling, register as a sex offender, and have no contact with minors. He must live in a residence approved by a probation officer and his computer use and access will be monitored. He was prohibited from obtaining a mail box or other delivery address, in addition to other conditions of supervision.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation Innocent Images Task Force and the Tucson and Sahuarita Police Departments. The prosecution was handled by Sandra M. Hansen, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Tucson.
