Southern Arizona Man Sentenced to Seven Years in Federal Prison for Sexual Abuse of a Minor

TUCSON, AZ—Justin Michael Antone, 47, a member of the Tohono O’Odham Nation, was sentenced on April 21st by U.S. District Court Judge Frank R. Zapata to seven years in federal prison for sexual abuse of a minor. Antone was convicted on February 5, 2009 after a trial in front of a federal jury who found him guilty of three counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

The victim testified that Antone sexually abused her repeatedly over a period of several months, beginning when she was 14 years old.

The investigation leading to the conviction was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Tohono O’Odham Police Department. The prosecution was handled by Angela Woolridge, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz.
