Acting Special Agent in Charge, Keith Bennett, announced today that the FBI and Pinal County Sheriff’s office are attempting to locate Christopher Rainbow Johns and are encouraging anyone with information concerning Johns’ whereabouts to contact local law enforcement. Johns is wanted on federal charges of assault with a deadly weapon and use of a firearm in a crime of violence. On March 24, 2006, Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call for service involving a stolen vehicle. A pursuit ensued as Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle which ended as the driver wrecked the stolen vehicle on the Gila River Indian Reservation leaving the vehicle inoperable. As Deputies approached, they were fired upon by one male occupant who was able to escape from the scene. This individual was later identified as Christopher Rainbow Johns. Because the incident occurred on the Gila River Indian Reservation, Johns has been charged federally by the FBI. Presently, the FBI and Pinal County Sheriff’s Office are seeking Johns pursuant to the federal warrant for his arrest. Johns, age 21, is considered to be armed and dangerous and is described as 5’6” in height, weighing 155lbs, as having a shaved hair style, brown eyes, and has multiple tattoos on both arms and his chest. Johns has been seen in the vicinity of the Gila River Indian Reservation, City of Maricopa Chandler, and the Sun Lakes area. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Johns, please contact Pinal County Sheriff’s Office at 520-866-5111, or the FBI 602-279-5511, or their local law enforcement agency. The public should note that this individual is considered armed and dangerous and should not attempt to detain Johns. |
