| SECOND YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF A 2005 BRUTAL RAPE AND ASSAULT |

Phoenix FBI Special Agent in Charge John E. Lewis would like to remind the public of an unsolved brutal crime that happened two years ago on January 29, 2005. Anniversary dates of traumatic experiences are mentally anguishing for victims, especially when the perpetrator goes unidentified. This Monday, January 29, 2007, is the 2 nd year anniversary of a brutal rape and assault that has gone unsolved. On January 29, 2005, at approximately 2:00 a.m., an unidentified male broke into a residence which was attached to the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Chinle, Arizona. Once inside, the male raped and assaulted a female resident. The victim sustained multiple injuries to include a fractured skull and numerous cuts and abrasions. The subject was described as a Native American male, with a dark complexion, 5’8”-5’10” in height, weighing approximately 150 to 160 lbs and having a neat appearance. The FBI and the Navajo Nation Criminal Investigation Department is seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining any information regarding this crime. The victim assisted authorities with a composite drawing of the suspect to aid in the investigation. In May 2006, a $10,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible. This reward is continues to be offered.
